Character Creation

This will be a campaign set in the world of Final Fantasy 4, approximately thirty years after the events of the e-game. The campaign will strive to incorporate elements unique to the world of FF4 while presenting an original and engaging storyline in the midst of new challenges to the people of the Six Kingdoms. This campaign will also provide valuable playtest data for the new rulesets present in the FF4 Worldbook, while otherwise utilizing the latest revision of the FFRPG 3rd edition rules. Unless otherwise noted, no ORD material is acceptable.

Location: IRC on Espernet in channel #whydah.

Time: Once per week, most likely on a weekday evening, for approximately 4 hours. Exact time and day will be determined by accepted players.

Characters:

• Level 10 characters, complete with skills, personality, and background.
• Allowed Races: Human, Dwarf. In addition, players may use the optional races of Elven Descent and Lunarian Descent as well as the optional FF4 Nationalities ruleset, as located here. However, the Silvaran nationality is not available.
• Allowed Jobs: All except Gambler, Time Mage, Dark Knight, and Paladin. Note that Time Magic spells included in the FF4 world will be added to the spell lists of Black and White Magic, as appropriate. See here for details.
• Advantages and Disadvantages are allowed, up to 10 points. Players are strongly encouraged to pick from the new Special Abilities found here.
• Traits: Characters are encouraged to include Advanced Traits. It is preferred that characters focus on a few select traits rather than including a wide variety.
• Background: Characters are strongly encouraged to include as part of their background some heroic service to a people or kingdom that would bring the character some recognition in the wider world. It is assumed that characters begin at level ten because of their experiences towards that end.

Please note that character advancement will be faster than normal by utilizing the rules for increased XP and Gil Awards.

Deadline:

Five players will be chosen in all. Interested players should submit characters within the next two weeks or so. Private Message for submissions is preferred. Submitted characters will be reviewed, and notification will be posted as characters are accepted. Tentatively, plan on the first session sometime during the first week of February.
