Game Master and Player Expectations:

GM Expectations (Or what I expect from you):

1. Sessions will be held on a weekly basis on Saturdays from 1-5pm EST in the Espernet channel #whydah. Players should plan on arriving approximately 15 minutes early and stay active within the channel until approximately 15 minutes after the session has ended.

2. Should a player be unable to attend, please contact the GM via PM as soon as possible. Unless absences become a problem, absent players will still receive XP and gil awards and should expect their character to be run by another player during combat situations. If absences become excessive, the player will receive a written warning, and if the situation is not corrected, may be asked to resign the campaign.

3. Players are responsible to keep their character sheets as accurate as possible. After each session, any and all changes should be sent to the GM via PM, even if the character sheet is updated elsewhere or changes detailed on IRC. Expect that changes will be checked by the GM and corrections may be requested.

4. The campaign will endeavor to closely follow the most up-to-date rules from the FFRPG 3rd edition, whether from the wiki or the PDFs. When a dispute over the rules occurs, a quick decision will be made by the GM and may be further discussed after the session on IRC or in the appropriate Playtesting thread. Once the GM has made a final ruling, no further discussion should occur until after the session.

5. At all times, players are expected to comport themselves with professionalism, maturity, and respect. Personal conflict between players is expected to be resolved outside of sessions.

6. All language, actions, and descriptions should stay within what is appropriate for a PG-13 rating. Explicit, excessively vulgar, or graphic language is prohibited. If repeated warnings from the GM occur, the player may be asked to resign from the campaign.

7. During a session, please keep Out of Character talk to a minimum. Running discussion concerning an active session should take place elsewhere unless specifically requested by the GM.

8. All players are expected to actively participate throughout each session. Characters who participate only marginally in the session should not expect to be awarded any bonus XP, KP, or other awards at the end of the session. Should participation become a problem, the situation may need to be addressed by the GM.

9. Players are expected to pay close attention to the events described in the game channel. During combat or whenver a dice roll is called for, a player is expected to act quickly once his or her action is called for. Players that dither too long should expect their action to either be delayed or skipped.

10. Unless otherwise noted by the GM, please use Highwind for all official dice rolls.

11. While both the GM and the players will jointly participate in utilizing Advanced Traits, the players bear the greater responsibility of recognizing where these Traits should come into play and discussing their ideas with the GM.

Players Expectations (or what you should expect from me):

1. Session times will be confirmed at the end of each session, and the channel topic updated accordingly. Should a delay or change become necessary, the GM will announce it on the appropriate Playtesting thread as soon as possible.

2. Character sheets will be maintained offline by the GM and will be checked after each update for accuracy.

3. Sessions will run between 3-4 hours, involving a combination of character interaction, combat, and adventure-style puzzle solving. Most if not all situations will have multiple solutions, and creativity is encouraged.

4. XP bonuses, along with KP, will be awarded based upon players roleplaying their Basic Traits, creativity in overcoming obstacles or enemies, and any extraordinary accomplishments by the player.

5. Following each session, the GM will post in the appropriate Playtesting thread a summary of the events of the session, including a detailed description of XP, gil, and Item Changes. In the event of a discrepancy, these summaries should be considered official.

6. Players should expect their comments and concerns to be taken seriously by the GM. All rulings and decisions may be discussed or contested with the GM following the session in question.

7. Over the life of the campaign, situations and combat will be tailored to the strengths, weaknesses, backgrounds, and Advanced Traits of the characters. Should a player have a specific request or suggestion, especially related to Traits, he or she is encouraged to discuss this with the GM.

8. Events and overall plot of the campaign will be strongly influenced by the FF4 world in general and the FF4 e-game in particular. The atmosphere, genre, and ethos of the campaign will hopefully be highly reminiscent of this source material.

9. The GM reserves the right to request a player resign should the situation warrant it. Be assured that this is considered a last resort.
