Campaign: Legacy of the Lunarians

It seemed a new age had dawned. After the long, brutal war waged by the kingdom of Baron in pursuit of tyrannical power, at last the forces of darkness had been defeated, and peace returned to the Earth. But the cost had been unbelievably high. Of the six major kingdoms, two had been all but destroyed, and two others decimated by the atrocities of war. But when the heroes of the War of the Crystals returned and assumed leadership of Earth, it seemed a new golden age was born. But, as they had been warned, the dark force that had spawned such destruction would never be eliminated as long as evil dwelt in the hearts of men.

Thirty years have passed since the end of the War of the Crystals. Despite adversity, the peoples of the six kingdoms have enjoyed many years of relative peace and prosperity under the wise leadership of their respective sovereigns. With monster incursions and bandit raids greatly diminished, travel and commerce among the six kingdoms is on the rise. Significant advances in magic, medicine, and technology have come to pass, with the promise of even greater discoveries on the horizon. Prospects for the future seem bright indeed.

Yet, on the thirtieth anniversary of the great wedding between Cecil Harvey and Rosa Farrell, astronomers in the town of Agart confirm what many have suspected for several months. High in the midnight sky, a star is growing brighter, casting a sinister red light down upon the Earth. And such an omen foretells of a great trial to fall upon the peoples of the six kingdoms once again...
